Paul McCartney performed a secret gig for fans in Liverpool yesterday (June 9,) at Liverpool’s Philharmonic pub.
McCartney was seen roaming the city with James Corden in the hours before the show and the pair were spotted taking selfies outside some of the city’s biggest landmarks – including the Beatles statue at the Pier Head.
The Liverpool Echo reported that television company SRO Audiences were offering local people the chance to be in the audience at the Philharmonic for a secret set from a “global superstar.”
Fans took to Twitter to share their excitement, with one tweeting: “”Not everyday you get to hear Paul McCartney singing all the Beatles songs with James Corden in a pub in Liverpool!!!!!!!! Feeling starstruck.”
There has been no indication as to when the footage of the show will be released, but fans have speculated that Corden’s presence indicates the pair were filming an segment for The Late Late Show.

In the last few days, Paul McCartney’s Instagram feed and profile picture has been deleted, leaving his page completely blank. His Twitter profile picture has also been removed, leading to speculation McCartney could be gearing up to release new music.
Last month, Paul McCartney was made a Companion Of Honour for his contribution to music. He is only one of a few musicians to receive the honour, including Vera Lynn and opera singer Janet Baker. Other recipients include Stephen Hawking, Judi Dench, and J.K. Rowling.
